Aesop
Who was Aesop? It depends who you believe, or whether you believe he existed at all, but the popular story says he was a deformed, stuttering Greek slave in the 6th century B.C. He was granted the gift of crafting fables by the goddess Isis after he helped her priestess. It is said that Aesop, who died a free man, was thrown off a cliff by the residents of Delphi. They suffered catastrophe for their actions. As you can see, Aesop is a legend of mythical proportions.
Aesop’s fables have been told and retold throughout history. You can find different versions of the same story in many different places. You can find the same stories with different titles and morals. The fables were designed to be short and efficient. Or they can be expanded for emphasis or color. So FabulousFables.com tells its versions of Aesop’s fables.
FabulousFables.com also writes its own fables. We know we can never compete with Aesop, the greatest fabulist of all time. But we think the fable is cool, and we thank Aesop for showing us the way.
